So why did I pick Germany? Well when I was a freshman I saw there was an opportunity to travel to Germany, Israel and Poland with a focus on the Holocaust. Ever since I was in high school I have always been intrigued by how such a horrific event could ever happen. Now that I am entering my senior year and have managed to save up enough money for the trip I am going! I know the trip this year focuses on castles and cathedrals, which I am very much excited about as well, but any opportunity to see first hand what the Holocaust looked like is one that I will not miss out on. My sister went on a trip to Germany for her work a few years ago and had the chance to tour concentration camps that were used during WWII. After hearing about her experiences and seeing the images from her trip I knew this was an experience I needed to have myself. As I mentioned before, I am also very excited about exploring and understanding the architecture of Germany. After spending some time online and briefly learning about German architecture I cannot wait to be able to enter these beautiful structures.
